THEME: “Empowering Texas Educators & Supporting Exceptional Children in a Changing World” This is a call for presentation proposals for the 2014 Texas CEC Annual State Conference to be held July 9th-12th at the Radisson Fort Worth Fossil Creek, Fort Worth, Texas. The conference is designed for general and special education teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, educational administrators, university professors, related service providers, and pre-service teachers who are interested in appropriate and effective education for exceptional children. Participants will benefit from new ideas, techniques and approaches to use in classrooms, schools, and communities. Participants will also have many opportunities to network with others who share similar interests, and will benefit from the resources, materials, and ideas in our exhibit area. Proposals are sought in the following types of presentations: Pre-Conference Proposals (1/2 day 3 hours), Breakout Sessions, Extended/Panel Discussions, Student Chapter Presentations, Research and Practice Roundtable Sessions, and Poster Sessions. There is also going to be a special strand for university undergraduate research roundtable discussions. Please read the descriptions and requirements on attached page for proposals, which will be submitted via email. Presentations will be chosen for the following strands:

Strands Strand 1: Early Childhood Intervention Strand 2: Informal Classroom Assessments/Progress Monitoring Strand 3: Classroom Management and Behavioral Interventions Strand 4: Low Incidence Disabilities Strand 5: Evidence-Based Practices (Elementary & Secondary Levels) Strand 6: Technology Use for Students with Learning Differences Strand 7: Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Strand 8: Innovative Inclusion Practices Strand 9: Undergraduate Research Roundtable

Pre-Conference – 3 or 6 hour session on an innovative or relevant topic to the field. Note the Division of CEC that corresponds with the session (i.e. CCBD, DLD, DADD, TAM, TED, etc.). On July 9th AM Session. Maximum of 6 presenters. Proposal due 2/28/14



Extended Panel or Demonstration – 90 minute-session that is moderated and interactive among presenter(s) and participants. On July 10h or June 11th. Maximum of 6 presenters. Proposal due 2/28/14



Regular Breakout Session – 45-minute session in which presenter(s) informs participants about a topic relevant to the field. On July 10th, 11th, or 12th. Maximum of 4 presenters. Proposal due 2/28/14



Research and Practice Roundtable – 45 minute interactive session on a research effort or practice presented while seated with participants. On July 10th, 11th, or 12th.. Maximum of 3 presenters Proposal due 2/28/14



Poster Session – 45 minute session in which presenter(s) describes a completed research study or research effort in progress or a teaching practice. On July 10th, 11th, or 12th.. Maximum of 3 presenters. Proposal due 2/28/14



Student Chapter Presentation – 10 minute presentation on student activities or relevant topic to the chapter. OTBD. Maximum of 6 presenters. Proposal due 2/28/14
