All parents will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other association event. Parents will leave the coaching to the coaching staff. Parents will encourage their child to play and practice in a manner consistent with the team strategy or plans. Parents will communicate all and any concerns to the FYH Girls Program Director (Laura Moynihan) or President (John Turner). Parents will not complain to the Coaching staff verbally or by email, and will refrain from negative discussion among themselves. Parents will not communicate via email or telephone or printed media to the team directly regarding team-related events. If a parent wishes to communicate an event to the team, a request for distribution will be made to the head coach only. Parents will contact the coaching staff directly in the event of a late arrival to a game or practice to determine if there is an issue with coach presence. Parents will not take it upon themselves to coach the team unless specifically authorized by the coaching staff or the Program Director or President. All efforts should be made to contact the coaching staff. Parents will not communicate with tournament coordinators at tournaments or in any game situation regarding the team and/or hold themselves out to be representatives of the team at any time unless they hold an authorized position as team mom or coach. If parents are contacted by tournament coordinators or other team coaches directly or by others directly regarding team events, they will refer the person to the team head coach for contact/discussion. Parents will at no time call or contact an official to dispute any infraction of the game. Parents will respect lockers rooms and benches as private areas for players, coaches and officials. Parents are not allowed on the playing surface or in the locker room without permission of the coaching staff. Parents will not organize or conduct team practices or team events at any ice facility or off ice training facility unless specifically requested by the Head Coach. For social events organized for the team that do not involve athletic activity in any way, parents agree to exercise courtesy and invite all players of the team as well as the coaching staff. Parents will acknowledge that volunteerism is the reason your child has the ability to play hockey in this community and coaches volunteer to help kids out, devote countless hours to doing so, and deserve 100% support.

Any parent failing to follow these rules of conduct will be subject to disciplinary action taken by Falmouth Youth Hockey League, Inc., including but not limited to, removal of the parent’s child from the Cape Cod Storm team.
