BLACKHAWK! CQC Carbon Fiber Holsters

®

Congratulations! You have just purchased the most advanced concealment holster on the market today. Here is a list of its many unique features, • Available with patented SERPA® Technology/Active Retention System® which provides lightening fast access and unparalleled security without cumbersome straps and snaps • Molded from a durable resilient blend of carbon fiber and impact-modified nylon for low maintenance and high performance in all environments • Micro fiber inlay with carbon fiber pattern gives not only a sleek, cutting-edge look, but provides superior sound deadening performance • Advanced modular platform system for a variety of carry options included with every holster • All hardware either stainless steel or brass for all weather performance Instructions for use (applies to both SERPA® and standard models): 1. Make sure the handgun is unloaded and that the holster selected is the correct model for your handgun. See the original package for fit information. CQC Carbon Fiber Holsters® are marked on the back of the holster as to the primary model of gun designed to fit in the holster. Because of their high level of performance CQC Carbon Fiber Holsters® are very gun specific and only the guns listed in the fit information should be used with a particular holster. DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to use a non-listed or modified gun in the holster. 2. Using an UNLOADED handgun push the gun into the holster as far as it will go. On both models you should both hear and feel the engagement of the passive detent mechanism. Also on the SERPA Active Retention System® models, the trigger guard lock will engage and the finger-activation platform will return to its outermost position. 3. Passive retention adjustment for both the SERPA® and non-SERPA® models is the same. Using a screwdriver turn the Phillips screw head located on the front of the holster one full turn counter-clock wise. Insert the UNLOADED handgun onto the holster as far as it will go. Gradually turn the adjustment screw clockwise one 1/8 of a turn at a time. Then remove the UNLOADED handgun each 1/8 turn of the screw from the holster to determine the amount of retention on the handgun. A small adjustment makes a big difference in the retention feature of the holster.

CAUTION: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Keep adjusting until you are satisfied with the degree of retention. The factors controlling the degree of retention on your holster and gun are your personal preferences and the intended use of the holster and gun. 4. The active retention feature of the SERPA® holsters require no adjustment however the passive feature should be adjusted as in step three. 5. Drawing from both models of CQC Carbon Fiber Holsters® is very simple. On the SERPA Active Retention® models simply grasp the handgun in a natural firm grip. Your index finger will naturally find and align itself with the finger-activation platform. Depress the finger-activation platform releasing the lock mechanism while smoothly drawing the gun from the holster. Do not attempt to pull up on the gun until you have depressed the finger-activation platform. Standard models (Non-SERPA®) require only that you remove the handgun from the holster briskly to overcome the passive retention detent. To re-holster both models return the handgun to the holster and push it firmly into the holster until you both feel and hear the retention feature(s) lock in. Additionally on the SERPA Active Retention® models you will also observe the finger tray return to its outermost position. WARNINGS Anyone handling a firearm should use extreme caution in the handling of such firearms. Because the improper use of firearms is inherently dangerous, you should undertake a safety course on the use and maintenance of a firearm before using one. Although the CQC Carbon Fiber Holster® is designed with the utmost care and concern for safety, the use of a holster with a firearm remains an activity that requires training, skill and care in the proper use of the firearm and the holster. In using the CQC Carbon Fiber Holster® described in this pamphlet, the user must be aware that each holster is designed to fit a specific group of handguns and therefore may not fit the contours of certain handguns exactly. The CQC Carbon Fiber Holster® is constructed in such a fashion that it is designed for the guns listed for each particular holster and size. YOU SHOULD NOT USE THIS HOLSTER UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THESE WARNINGS AND THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND CARE OF THE HOLSTER AS DESCRIBED THEREIN. IN SOME CASES THE HOLSTER MAY NEED TO BE ADJUSTED FOR YOU PERSONALLY AND FOR YOUR FIREARM. 1. Check to ensure that your firearm is one for which the CQC Carbon Fiber Holster® has been designed to fit. The CQC Carbon Fiber Holster® has been developed for only the particular models and sizes listed in the BLACKHAWK!® catalog. YOU MUST NOT USE THE CQC CARBON FIBER HOLSTER™ WITH A FIREARM THAT HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED.

2. ALWAYS refer to the gun manufacturer's recommendations and instructions regarding whether to carry your gun in a ready-to-fire condition. 3. ALWAYS use care when holstering any handgun to avoid unintentional cocking of the firearm. After holstering, check to make sure that the handgun is not in a cocked condition. 4. ALWAYS check to make sure that the holster does not interfere with any safety features, controls, sights, or magazine release devices of the gun you plan to carry in it. 5. ALWAYS engage the safety before holstering the pistol and DO NOT disengage it until after the weapon has been drawn and is clear of the holster. DO NOT carry a gun in this condition unless you have been specifically trained in the proper and safe procedure for such use. 6. ALWAYS check the holster for wear or damage before each use. This is important to assure that the holster will continue to function as designed and intended. DO NOT use this holster if wear, damage, or other condition of the holster defeats or interferes with any safety or design function of the holster or the gun. 7. ALWAYS be careful when using the holster and any firearm. Practice drawing and holstering the firearm so that you will be prepared if you encounter a potentially dangerous situation. 8. ALWAYS MAKE SURE that the firearm is secured in the holster with the retention strap with thumb break or tension adjustment device in place. 9. ALWAYS be sure that any retention strap is positioned to prevent the firearm from accidentally falling out of the holster. 10. ALWAYS be diligent and alert when using this holster on duty as the primary responsibility for weapon retention lies not with the holster but with the individual employing the holster. 11. DO NOT adapt or change the CQC Carbon Fiber Holster®. 12. DO NOT touch the hammer of the firearm when drawing or replacing the firearm. 13. DO NOT draw or return the gun to the holster with your finger on the trigger. 14. DO NOT use the holster if it does not appear to properly fit your firearm even if your firearm is listed as one for which this holster has been designed to fit. Return it to BLACKHAWK!® and we will immediately replace it. Please contact
