Foundation Unit F1 children are settling in really well and learning their routines. There is a book swap available in the Foundation Unit and this is near the Key Worker notice board. Parents are welcome to swap their books when every they like. The weather at the moment is really cold. Could we please ask if children can bring gloves and hat for playtimes and dinner times. Also on a Wednesday for woodland learning could we ask if children can wear trousers or tights as some children’s legs were cold. If anyone has any pants, socks, gloves or hats they would like to donate we would be really grateful. Thank you.

Homework Club. Not many children have been attending Homework Club this half-term. Homework Club runs every Wednesday 3:00pm – 3:40pm. If you signed a consent form last term, you do not need to sign another one. Homework is an important part of learning as it consolidates your child’s understanding as well as informing you what your child is learning. English and maths homework is set weekly. If you would like your child to attend Homework Club, letters can be obtained from either Mr Smith or Mrs Horsley Silver Birch This week in maths Silver Birch class have been learning about different types of measures. They used measuring in ml to make a potion and weighing in grams to bake chocolate chip cookies.

NSPCC ChildLine When ChildLine came into the Oaks class, they taught us about the different kinds of abuse that may happen and how to keep ourselves safe. Buddy, who is the Child Line mascot, represents a speech bubble as the motto of ChildLine is: ‘I have the right to stay happy and safe.” At the end of the lesson a ‘Buddy Kit’ was given to everyone to complete as well as a certificate for taking part in the ChildLine workshop. Following the workshops, an online survey was completed by the children. By Charli Hayward, Hattie Thomas and Harley Barton
