Meeting in Grapevine, Texas July 10-13, math educators from around the country will learn about a student-centered approach to middle school and secondary mathematics instruction.
Carnegie Learning teachers, leaders and administrators will share best practices in:
Effective mathematics instructional strategies for middle school and high school
Increased mathematics content knowledge to support individual student learning
Implementing successful standards-based, student-centered classroom
Applying tools to monitor and sustain a successful Carnegie Learning implementation
Last year’s National Math Institute drew more than 185 teachers and school leaders from Houston Independent School District, Kent School District in Washington State, the Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences, and Knox County Board of Education in Knoxville, TN, among other districts.
“The National Math Institute was a powerful experience,” said Brandy King, classroom teacher in the School District of the City of Highland Park, Michigan. “It was great to attend Professional Development sessions with other teachers who are using the curriculum and having the same classroom experiences I am. It was refreshing to share concerns and ideas with other teachers from across the country and I left with a renewed desire to implement the Carnegie curriculum with fidelity.” -- more --
