Thank you for your interest in the Cascade Christian High School Cheer program. We look forward to all the exciting things the upcoming season has in store for us! GO CHALLENGERS! IN THIS PACKET, YOU WILL FIND THE FOLLOWING:
Tryout Information List of Important Dates Release Waiver
CCHS CHEER TRYOUT INFORMATION WHEN: May 2nd, May 3rd, May 4th & May 5th
Tuesday 4:00 - 6:00 Wednesday 4:00 - 5:30 Thursday 4:00 - 6:00 Friday 4:00 - finish
WHERE: Tryouts will be located at the Cascade Christian High School gym
WHAT: All prospective cheerleaders (returning and new) will participate in 3 days of instruction and 1 final tryout day. A dance, chant and jumps will be taught during the instruction days. These instruction days are for learning, asking questions, and perfecting the tryout material. The final tryout day will take place on Friday, May 5th. Cheerleaders will try out in designated groups of 2-3 in front of a judging panel which will include the CCHS and CCMS coaching staff. Prospective cheerleaders will perform the learned material and be scored by the judging panel. Scores will be handed out in sealed envelopes to each athlete post tryout. After all athletes have performed their tryout, each cheerleader will be called in and informed if they made the team and if so, which team they have been placed on.
CCHS CHEER TRYOUT FACTS:
The signed release waiver is REQUIRED for participation during tryout week NO experience is necessary to make the team Tryouts are closed to participating students and coaching staff CCHS cheer will consist of two teams this year - Varsity and VIT Team (see explanation below) Full participation in all four days is required Wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes All jewelry must be removed prior to attending tryouts Punctuality and being ready to start tryouts on time makes a good impression A bow in hair, smile and great attitude is encouraged!
TEAM EXPLAINATIONS VARSITY Varsity member will be designated based on athletic ability, aptitude, and coachability. Varsity responsibilities and expectations will be outlined at the "Welcome To The Team" on Monday, May 8th.
VIT TEAM (Varsity In Training) VIT team members will have many of the same responsibilities and expectation of Varsity members yet not all of the same privileges. The VIT team objective is to train up the new members by influence of varsity athletes who are familiar with our programs standards and values. VIT Team responsibilities and expectations will be outlined at the "Welcome To The Team" meeting on Monday, May 8th.
*Varsity & VIT team members will be announced at the final tryout day on Friday, May 5th*
COMPETITION TEAM Competition team will be designated in mid August after CCHS coaching staff have seen each cheerleaders level of commitment, athleticism, coachability, work ethic and aptitude. More information regarding competition team will be outlined at the "Welcome To The Team" on Monday, May 8th.

Starts July 18th - early September. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 10:00-12:30 PM At CCHS gym (No Practice July 23rd – 31st for moratorium week )

COMPETITION CHOREOGRAPHY WITH TARA MAHONEY at CCHS

ALL OTHER DATES (CAR WASH, TEAM BUILDING, FUNDRAISERS ETC) WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE “WELCOME TO THE TEAM MEETING”- Coaches need to be notified of any summer schedule conflicts by the WTTT Meeting. Commitment to summer calendar will weigh heavily on placement on the competition team.
