GUEST SPEAKER CHRIS SALMON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR MARKETS BANK OF ENGLAND
Chris Salmon has been the Bank of England's Executive Director for Markets since June 2014. He is responsible for all Bank operations in financial markets; management of the Bank’s balance sheet and the UK's official foreign exchange reserves on behalf of HMT; and delivering market intelligence for monetary and financial stability. Chris has worked at the Bank for over twenty years, and recent previous positions include: Executive Director, Banking & Chief Cashier (2011 – 2014) and Private Secretary to then Governor, Sir Mervyn King (20062009). Chris has been the Bank of England's Mental Health Network executive sponsor for the last 4 years. Chris studied undergraduate Economics at Bristol University and postgraduate Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at LSE. DORNEYWOOD
Dorneywood is the country residence of a senior member of the Government, usually a Secretary of State or Minister of the Crown. It is currently used by The Rt Hon Mr Philip Hammond MP, the Chancellor of the Exchequer. It was given to the National Trust by Lord CourtauldThomson and it is administered by the Dorneywood Trust at no cost to the public. Dorneywood is an eighteenth-century brick house set in the grounds of Burnham Beeches. The house was added to around 1850 and rebuilt in the same plain Georgian style after a fire in 1910.

Their services, known as Social & Therapeutic Horticulture (STH), use the healing power of nature and the outdoors to improve mental wellbeing, boost self-esteem & social inclusion and encourage long-term recovery. STH is recognised to be beneficial for a wide range of mental health needs including anxiety, depression, loneliness as well as for people with autism (ASD), dementia and head injury.
