Summary • Savidya is taking education to rural areas in Uttarakhand in cooperation with the government •The approach is to augment resources provided by the government •Starting with the adoption of 1 primary school, Savidya now supports a total of 7 schools (primary and secondary) with apprxomiately 500 students •Savidya also stives for community involvement in local schools. This year, the emphasis is on enabling the parentteacher committee to improve functioning of the schools
