Monalisa Siofele, 35, of Honolulu was nominated by Aiea UMC. She received a BA in 1999 in Sports Medicine and a Masters in Secondary EduEducation in 2006. Education Monalisa is a Masters of Divinity student at Schoolpreparing Claremont SchoolClaremont of Theology for ordained ministry with a special interest in campus ministry.
Aaron Tom, 22, of Kailua was nominated by Kailua UMC. He is studying for his this masters degree in environmental engineering at Southern Methodist University.
Timothy Buskey, 29, of Rohnert Park was nominated by Brea UMC. He is a graduate of Hope International University and a Masters of Divinity student at Duke Divinity School. He is deciding between being a professor and going into diaconal or pastoral ministry.

Wesley Foundations are home to listening ears, counsel and help in crises, fun and fundamental connections, student-designed worship, student-initiated classes, and points of outreach in service. Most offer low-cost housing for closer community. In addition, each ministry adds its own special touches:

with the University’s Center for Ethics and Spirituality provides spiritual development classes and nationally recognized Intergroup Dialogue classes across race, gender, and religious differences.

UCLA (Deaconess Jeanne Roe Smith) – 580 Café provides food for students (some choosing between books and nourishment), a room to gather, a room to study, creativity circles and a strong immigration ministry serving students, campus and congregations.
San Luis Obispo (Rev. Rick Uhls) – A long long-time ministry out of San Luis Obispo UMC, providing a weekly dinner and activity and reaching out to Cal Poly, Cuesta Community College, and Allan Hancock Community College.
San Diego State University (Rev. Dr. Beth Cooper) – Teaches skills for life, academic success, and leadership. Offers programs for former foster children, veterans, and first-generation college students. All as plans progress for a beautiful new Wesley House residence and center.
UCLA (Deaconess Jeanne Roe Smith) – 580 Café provides food for students (some choosing between books and nourishment), a room to gather, a room to study, creativity circles and a strong immigration ministry serving students, campus and congregations.
San Diego State University (Rev. Dr. Beth Cooper) – Teaches skills for life, academic success, and leadership. Offers programs for former foster children, veterans, and first-generation college students. All as plans progress for a beautiful new Wesley House residence and center.

Zuill) – Develops leadership with peer interns, a summer Concrete Christ Service Project where college students lead high school campers, and a College Prep 101 for District youth.
