Chaperone Guidelines
In order to provide the best overall and safest experience for this trip, we have established very high expectations for our chaperones. Your role is not to be a child or student’s best friend or buddy on this trip, but to serve as a role model and authority figure. In order to serve as a chaperone on this trip, please initial by each expectation, sign this form at the bottom, and return to your team leader.
_____ 1. I will model Christ-‐likeness in all of my behavior. _____ 2. I will demonstrate respect, loyalty, patience, courtesy, and maturity. _____ 3. I will treat people of all races, income levels, and cultures with respect and consideration. _____ 4. I will not abuse children in any way, including but not limited to: • Physical abuse (e.g. strike, spank, grab, shake, slap) • Verbal/Mental abuse (e.g. humiliate, degrade, threaten) • Sexual abuse (e.g. inappropriate touch or exposure) _____ 5. I will not tolerate or engage in the use of profanity, hazing, or inappropriate behavior. _____ 6. I will not allow any type of pranking and will report any pranking I become aware of to leadership immediately. _____ 7. I will never be alone with another student for any reason at all. _____ 8. I will never be alone with someone of the opposite gender (unless it is my spouse or child). _____ 9. I will maintain a positive and flexible attitude. _____ 10. I will be EARLY to all scheduled activities and events. _____ 11. I will refrain from the use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, and any drugs for which I do not have a valid and current prescription for.
