Factorial ANOVA Independent variables also called factors ANOVA can accommodate multiple factors each having two or more levels
Simplest would be 2 factors, each with two levels
Factorial ANOVA (Cont.) An example of a more complex factorial ANOVA is:

Group 1
Group 2
Group 3
This is called a three way ANOVA because there are three factors with one factor having three levels and the other two factors each having two levels (3 X 2 X 2). This can be theoretically expanded to any number of factors and any number of levels although interpretation of results can become increasingly difficult.
