The  DNP  is  a  Degree,  Not  a   Role

• The  DNP  degree  was  created  and  birthed   by  the  AACN  as  the  prepara'on  for  the   prac'ce  doctorate   • DNP  educa'on  prepares  nursing  prac'ce   doctorates  that  include  clinical  and  non-‐ clinical  roles     • The  key  founda'onal  theme  of  the  degree   is  the  word  PRACTICE   • Prac'ce  implies  and  connotes  the  need  for   measurable  outcomes
