CHEERLEADER TRYOUT PACKET -Please read all of the information!This is your tryout packet. The following pages need to be filled out completely and promptly by you, your parent, and your current teachers: 7 Junior High teachers or 8 High School teachers.

ELIGIBILITY In order to tryout for the Roy High Cheerleading Squad, you must meet the following requirements: 1. Have at least a 3.0 GPA on the term before try-outs or 3.0 Cum GPA. 2. Have no F’s or I’s on the term before tryouts academic grade report. 3. Have no more than 2 N’s or 1 U on this year’s grade report (9, 10, 11 grade). 4. Have no more than 1 truant on this year’s attendance report. 5. Have lost no more than .75 attendance credit (not applicable to 9th graders). 6. Must show proof of medical insurance (prior to tryouts) 7. Must be a full-time student. Early college students or students attending WIC must have advisor’s and the cheer-assigned administrator’s permission to try-out.

TRYOUT FORMS The first page is the APPLICATION FOR CHEER SQUAD CANDIDATE. It must be filled out and signed by the candidate and parents and turned in by Monday, April 10th, 2017, the first day of clinics. The next eight pages are the TEACHER EVALUATION FORMS. All teachers (excluding seminary teachers) need to complete and return these forms for you to tryout. These teachers should be given the form as soon as possible in order for them to complete and return to Mrs. Kersey-Smith no later than Wednesday, April 12th, 2017. These forms must be returned in order for you to try out. If the teacher does not have time to give it to Mrs. Kersey-Smith personally, they can return it to the main office at RHS, give it to you in a sealed envelope to return to Mrs. Kersey-Smith, or scan and email it to [email protected]

CLINCS Clinics are April 10th, April 11th, and April 12th. They begin at 5:45 A.M. SHARP and end at 7:15 A.M. They will be held in the Ted Smith gym. There is a $20.00 judging fee for the tryout; this needs to be paid by April 10th, the first day of clinics. Please pay the Roy High School bookkeeper (cash, check, or card). TRYOUTS WILL BE HELD in the Ted Smith gym Thursday, April 13th at 3:00 P.M. They are closed to the public. Announcement letters will be handed out that evening at the end of the tryouts. **For the 2017-2018 squad there will be a uniform fitting tentatively set for April 24th at 6:00 am. There will also be a $200.00 deposit for the new uniforms. Cheerleading is very costly! Please be aware of the time and money commitments involved in Cheerleading.
