Chess Instruction

Develop problem solving and strategic thinking skills Chess: • Classes meet 90 minutes once a week for six weeks • Low student to instructor ratio • Learn problem solving and abstract reasoning • Personal progress emails from your instructor after every class • Peer-based instruction and a fun atmosphere—learn and play with friends

Chess instruction helps your child develop skills in strategic thinking which are critical to success. Zaniac’s Chess program was co-developed by our Founder, Paul Zane Pilzer, who represented the U.S. in chess against the USSR at 14 years old. Studies have long shown the benefits of playing chess include developing higher order thinking skills, enhancing creativity, and improving memory, all giving your child a leg up at school. Chess is also designed to be self-motivating and teach consequences to develop individual responsibility.
