Child Nutrition Program Manager Job Goals: To provide technical assistance and training for Child Nutrition services in accordance with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) rules/regulations; to provide direct services to districts in the region so that all districts are in compliance with TDA regulations; and to assist districts in providing a quality nutritious school meals program that is effective and efficient. Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field or two years of college with course work in nutrition with work experience in the program, preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in school food service, with 3 years experience at a supervisory and/or management level preferred. Strong overall knowledge of School Nutrition Programs, Summer Food Service Programs and Child and Adult Care Food Programs in regard to federal and state regulations, including Administrative Reviews. Training and experience in teaching adults. High degree of professionalism including strong public relations skills. Ability to work with different/diverse personalities. Ability to work with others efficiently and pleasantly. Capable of handling multiple tasks without supervision. Strong computer proficiency and software application experience. Strong organizational skills. Willingness to travel frequently. Respond to client's needs in a courteous and timely manner with current, accurate information. Provide on-site and office-based technical assistance to districts. Utilize distance learning technologies for meetings/technical assistance/training to maximize efficiency in working with districts and working within the region. Follow all federal, state, and local policies and guidelines as well as the TDA contractual agreement. Plan, deliver, and evaluate professional development activities for districts according to TDA Federal and State guidelines and based on district needs. Monitor and maintain Child Nutrition program records. Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating the School/Child Nutrition Program summer workshop for ESC 6. Teach three, one to three-day courses at regional School/Child Nutrition Program summer workshops in other ESCs. Provide technical assistance to districts receiving an Administrative Review and assist with any Corrective Action Documents (CAD) if warranted Provide training for TX-UNPS applications. Attend required TDA meetings, TETNs and state conference. Attend other professional development/conferences as funding allows. Attend ESC required technology trainings for 12 hours/annually. Other duties as assigned.
