Let us pray: Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things: graft in our hearts the love of your name, increase in us true religion, nourish us with all goodness, and of your great mercy keep us in the same; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

The first reading is from the Book of Ephesians Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
(Ephesians 2. 19-22) This is the Word of the Lord Thanks be to God Psalm 31: 1-5 (pg.479) Listen to the Gospel of Christ according to John Glory to you, O Lord. Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” 2
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
(John 20: 24-29) This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you O Christ. Post Communion Prayer Lord God, whose Son is the true vine and the source of life, ever giving himself that the world may live: may we so receive within ourselves the power of his death and passion that, in his saving cup, we may share his glory and be made perfect in his love; for he is alive and reigns, now and for ever. VICARAGE GARDEN PARTY 10 JULY 3-5pm: The annual Garden Party at the Vicarage will take place next Sunday, on the afternoon of Sunday 10 July at 3pm, finishing with a short act of worship at 5pm. There will, therefore, be no 6pm service at Christ Church next Sunday (10th July). Please feel free to bring cake with you to the garden party! MESSY CHURCH: The next Messy Church will be Messy Holiday on Saturday 23rd July. See poster on page 11. PARISH PRAYER BOARD: you are encouraged to post any prayer intentions on our Prayer Board outside the Lady Chapel. These intentions will be prayed for in the parish Prayer Group which meets every Wednesday at 10am in the Lady Chapel. Please do consider joining us if you can. OPEN FOR PRAYER: we are now offering a midweek opening on a regular basis for general private prayer or special intentions on the first Tuesday of each month between 10.00am and 12.00 noon, the next being this Tuesday 5th July.
