selected for her work with Team Ariana as one of five 2012 finalists for the Christopher Reeve Award from over thousands of kids throughout the country. The Heroes of the Heart® Awards Program is a national recognition program that identifies inspirational individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to enrich the lives of others. The Heroes of the Heart® Awards Program is celebrated in schools across the country. The Heart of America Foundation® Christopher Reeve Award recognizes extraordinary youths who have demonstrated tremendous courage, compassion and caring in serving his or her community. The Heart of America Foundation® Search Committee enjoyed learning about Ariana's extraordinary athletic feats, but even more so about her selflessness to use her races as a fundraising platform for Vogel Alcove. Ariana's commitment to helping homeless children is inspirational and a model for all athletes around the world.
