“Boasting About Tomorrow” James 4:13-17 While Pastor Pete & Rebecca are attending the District Pastor’s & Spouse’s Retreat this weekend, we are privileged to have Dr. Jeanne Serrão preaching this morning. Dr. Serrão is the Professor of New Testament and the Dean of the School of Theology and Philosophy at Mount Vernon Nazarene College since 1999. Before that, she and her husband, Carlos, pastored 12 years at Highland Avenue Community Church in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Both are graduates of Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri with the M.Div. degree and Jeanne is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. She received her Ph. D. in New Testament from Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California. Born of missionary parents, Jeanne grew up in Haiti and has taught the Bible in as diverse places as the Ukraine, Switzerland, California, Tennessee and Ohio. Her personal ministry passion is helping Christians become all God wants them to be.
