Classroom Management PLC: Training of Trainers For Behavior TaC September 2016
PaTTAN is pleased to announce a one-day Training of Trainers for the series, Building a Successful Classroom: A Professional Learning Framework for Classroom Management. The training of trainers will provide IU Behavior TaC with the information and resources needed to implement a professional learning community for local education agencies (LEAs) interested in strengthening their classroom management efforts. The Classroom Management Professional Learning Community (PLC) Series is based on the five evidencebased practices of effective classroom management: 1. Structure and predictability 2. Post, teach, and reinforce a small number of classroom rules 3. Actively engage students in observable ways 4. Using a continuum of responses to acknowledge appropriate behavior 5. Developing a continuum of responses to respond to inappropriate behavior Trainers will receive access to all training materials (PowerPoint slides with trainer notes, handouts and activities for trainings and plc meetings). Following the oneday ToT, two virtual network support meetings will occur (see dates on the right). During the training, IU TaC will:
Identify the core aspects and structure of the three days of professional development to be delivered to a team/teams of teachers Discuss and practice the components of a professional learning community (plc) meeting Review the materials needed for trainings, meetings, and peer observations
