Clim bs in Z ion National Park. Bill F orrest and I did two new climbs in K olob Canyon. In June we climbed the G reat Rib of K olob (NCCS VI, F9, A 2 ). We followed the prom inent northw est rib of Tim ber Top Mesa, climbing three distinct pillars; we climbed the second on the right past a roof w hich is the crux. Above the pillars we followed a chimney system rightw ards to reach the mesa crest. In O ctober we climbed the north face of Shintavi Butte (NCCS V, F9, A 3 ). We climbed the obvious crack-and-chim ney system splitting the face. A nchor bolts are in situ on this excellent route. W il l ia m M a r c h ,
