Felt on large mat using pumpkin shaped cookie cutter, pen style needle felting tool, and red roving. Place a sheet of paper between the mat and wool roving for easier removal of the appliqué from mat. Create 4-5 petals with the cookie cutter. Attach petals together with pen style felting tool to create flower leaving a small opening in the center.
Use an even up and down motion with felting.
Cookie Cutters are the best felt shapes.
Step 2 Roll 1 petal and felt to create bud shape. Felt bud to vines with pen style felting tool. Use small amount of lime green roving to make a felted ball. Place eyelash yarn and felted ball in center of flower. Attach ball and eyelash yarn to flower with Pen Style felting tool. Apply fusible interfacing to wrong side of fabric on dress.
Step 3 Make vines by pulling strips of moss green and brown roving and twisting the two colors together. Place flowers on dress, use needle felting tool to attach flowers and vines to dress. Use needle and thread to secure larger flowers on to dress.
