COED SOFTBALL LEAGUE FALL 2015 1. THE LEAGUE: a. Maximum of fifty eight (58) teams (8 or 10 team divisions). b. Each team will play one doubleheader per week for 9 weeks for a total of 18 games i. (Subject to change based on number of entries) c. Divisions are based on team skill level, with A being the highest skilled team and D the most recreational. Please consider the following when registering: i. Division A: Teams are competitive teams that have likely played together in previous seasons and may travel for additional tournaments. High intensity level. Note- this is not always offered, please inquire prior to the season if you wish to play in Division A ii. Division B: Teams often have players with competitive experience and have likely played together in previous seasons. High intensity level. (Not Offered Fall) iii. Division C: Teams may have a few players with competitive experience and may have played together in previous seasons. Moderate intensity level. iv. Division D: Teams have few to no players that have ever played beyond a recreational/social league. Teams with no experience are welcome here. Low intensity level. d. Weeknight games are played from approximately 6:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Saturday games from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday games from noon until 7:00 p.m. e. League ends by November 22, 2015. 2. REGISTRATION: a. Registration Begins on JUNE 22. b. To register visit- http://youthleaguesusa.com/arlington/registration.html. i. Online submission only, Registration and payment will not be accepted via mail. c. Entry Deadline- Friday, July 17, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. d. Registration Fee of $ 770.00 per team which includes umpires, ASA fee, field user fee and awards. e. Entry must include fees and team roster. Minimum of 10 players (5 male & 5 female) must be rostered. i. Rosters without the minimum ten (10) team players, including address and phone numbers for each participant is considered an incomplete roster. ii. Incomplete rosters WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED under any circumstances. NO EXCEPTIONS! f. All rosters must be comprised of at least 66% Arlington County residents (verified with a photocopy of driver’s license or other acceptable documentation). All adult teams will be assessed a $30.00 fee for each non-Arlington County resident and Arlington business resident. The non-resident fees and business resident fees can be added to the franchise fee. 3. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: a. All rosters must be comprised of at least 66% Arlington County residents, and this percentage must be maintained throughout the season. Arlington County business residents count toward the 66% but are still charged the non-resident fee. All adult teams will be assessed a $30.00 fee for each non-resident and Arlington business residents rostered. b. The non-resident player fees are not transferable or refundable.

4. ROSTERS: a. 25 PLAYER LIMIT. Rosters must include the proper names, signatures, addresses, and telephone numbers of all coaches, managers, and players. Nicknames are not acceptable! (Examples: Tony instead of Anthony, Bill instead of William, etc.) Only original rosters will be accepted (No duplicates). Incomplete rosters will be returned. Rosters become final October 11, 2015. 5. DATES OF PLAY: a. Starting Dates: i. Class C– Wednesday August 19, 2015 ii. Class C– Thursday August 20, 2015 iii. Class D– Monday August 17, 2015 iv. Class D- Tuesday August 18, 2015 v. Class D– Thursday August 20, 2015 vi. Class D– Saturday August 22, 2015 vii. Class Masters 35 & Over – Sunday August 23, 2015 b. Makeup games will be played on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If makeup slots become available during week nights, they may be used. c. Games will not be played on Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 4-7) and on Columbus Day (Oct.12) 6. GAME BALLS: a. Any ASA approved restricted flight 12 inch (52-COR, 300 Compression) softball may be used. Teams must provide softballs. 7. AWARDS: a. At the conclusion of the season, the team with the best won-lost record (point system) will receive one (1) team trophy. Second place finishers in the regular season will receive a team trophy as well. 8. MANDATORY RULES INTERPRETATION CLINIC: a. The Annual Adult Softball Rules Interpretation Clinic will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in the Fairlington Community Center, 3308 South Stafford Street, Arlington, Virginia from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The Clinic will be conducted by the contracted softball umpires association. Each team must have a representative present at the Clinic. Please be prompt. 9. UMPIRES: a. Arlington Parks and Recreation has contracted with Old Dominion Softball Umpires Association (ODSUA). ODSUA schedules umpires for all league and tournament games, one umpire per game.
