Column Design Procedure for Short and Slender Columns in non-sway frames 1) Obtain Cover requirement from table 7.3 on page 7-19. 𝑃𝑓
2) Calculate 𝐴𝑔 = 0.5∗𝑓𝑐 , Pf is in N, therefore Ag is in mm2 3) =
𝐴𝑔 , round up to nearest 50mm
4) 𝑟 = 0.3 ∗ for rectangular, 𝑟 = 0.25 ∗ 𝐷 for circular 5) Calculate ψ1 and ψ2 and K a. Calculate I of columns and T-beams about neutral axis 𝐼
