Organisation Regen SW is an entrepreneurial, not-for-profit, mission led organisation. We are seeking a highly motivated administrator with a passion for sustainable energy to help us deliver our mission in this way. We need people with a good degree of initiative, the flexibility to respond to the wide range of needs and opportunities generated in such an organisation and are looking for enthusiasm, commercial acumen, an eye for detail and a commitment to quality. Role The communities communications intern will help communicate Regen SW’s communities programme of work to its members and stakeholders, supporting the communities manager and onshore team with day-to-day activities. The administrator will become a pivotal member of the onshore team, which delivers some of Regen SW’s core activities. The role will involve working closely with members of the Regen SW team and will be key to ensuring that professional standards are maintained at all times. We are looking for a vibrant, energetic and intelligent person to join our team, where you will learn about the sustainable energy industry. Working on community energy communications, you will gain an excellent broad understanding of the community energy sector.
Principal responsibilities
assist in seeking partners for Regen’s work where relevant assist in the management of the company’s large database and community energy champion directory, inputting data. Arrange for new data to be collated and added as required by the communities manager. send out communications to relevant distribution lists draft and proof read communication materials as required assist the communities manager in revamping and updating the Regen SW communities microsite assist the team in promoting Regen SW’s community energy activities via social media be the point of contact for communications with the press assist in the delivery of Regen’s Community Energy Group Network events collate information and support communities to promote their own energy events in the run up to Community Energy Fortnight develop an online forum for the Community Energy Champions to network
Person specification Essential Qualifications and general skills: educated to A-level with good grades in a relevant course good typing and IT skills excellent ability to plan and organise own workload Communication excellent communication skills both written and verbal strong copy writing skills good influencing and negotiation skills ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion at all times excellent problem solving skills Team working experience and commitment to team working work cooperatively with other members of the Regen SW team to maximise the quality and effectiveness of the organisations communications Adminstration IT literate good working knowledge of administrative tasks excellent attention to detail and good proof reading skills
Desirable Qualifications and general skills: experience in managing databases experience in responding positively to challenges and tight deadlines ability to write media releases project coordination experience media engagement experience interest in the renewable energy sector familiarity with content management systems on websites familiarity with contact relationship management systems

Benefits and term 25 days’ paid holiday a year pro rata increasing by a day each year to a maximum of 30 days per year plus public holidays
