Conference Presentation Expectations for TRC-M MTMs Presenting at a conference provides an excellent opportunity for professional leadership. Steps must be taken to ensure the presentation is an overwhelming success. Pacing, voice, resources, visuals and active participation are just a few of the topics that must be addressed. Planning is an integral key to building an engaging session. Guidelines if Requesting a Stipend: Attend entire conference (all days). Document sessions attended on form provided. Submit proper paperwork (the ESC 6 TRC-M form). Presentations count double. One hour credit may be obtained for visiting exhibits. Two hours of volunteer time count. Cannot be reimbursed by school for any part. Must have paid for out of pocket initially. All paperwork is due one week after conference. Hours Completed Requirement: 7 SHSU Math Conference (7/9) 24 TRC Annual Meeting (24/24) 18 CAMT (18/22) Presentation Guidelines: Sessions should be based on TRC-M offerings. (Ex: YMAW, DMI, Lesson Study) Pull a concept, model, strategy etc. from the TRC-M trainings to share during the allotted time. (Ex: Open number lines from YMAW) Presentation submissions must be varied; no repeats. (Ex: not two journaling sessions) Titles should entice participants to want to attend. Descriptors need to be thorough and exciting with a three sentence minimum. Presenters are responsible for handouts, materials, etc. Workshop for Planning: Presentation Preparation May 13, 2014 ESC PDC # 160084 Please attend this workshop if you need assistance and guidance with planning and preparation of your presentation. Note: If sessions are full, attend general sessions. Stipend is to pay for registration, mileage, food, and hotel. The allotted amount will only cover if you room, carpool, etc. with someone. This is an all or nothing arrangement.
