Construction Projects & Serving God?

Have you ever thought about doing construction in Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa?

There is an exciting opportunity for men and women who have experience in construction and masonry to work with our Missionary Seth Curtis to build rooms for the church in the Congo. Below are pictures of the current structure as well as task details.  The dates for the trip are open and can be agreed upon by the team going.    The Curtis’s have been missionaries in the Congo for many years and have invested greatly in this country for the Gospel and call it home.  Is God calling you to use your gifts of construction to help meet the needs of this local church?

Task Details: 30’ x 36’ Main Room 18’ x18’  Multi-Purpose Rooms (2) • Main Room needs suspended timber ceilings built out. • Multi Purpose Rooms have no trusses and will need suspended timber ceilings from concrete wall to concrete wall. • Electrical Conduit  Run - Heat Bending and Anchoring • Plastic Sheeting Installed • Pink Fiberglass insulation installed • Soffit type (tongue and groove) ceiling Material Installed Timeframe:  estimate 2 weeks for timber framed ceilings (3 rooms). Potential for Two Back to Back teams, one to Frame and one to do the other effort Supplies:  Lumber is purchased and curing. Lumber needs to be ripped to usable sizes.  This is not U.S. materials and will need to be sanded. Since it is not kiln, dried pilot holes have to be drilled first and screws used in addition to nails.  Pneumatic System could make this go faster but would have to be sourced out of U.S. and team would have to travel with it.  Work Conditions and lack of U.S. tools will make this job slower. Team members need to be flexible and creative at times.   A 30 gallon air compressor is provided.
