CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION OF STEUBEN COUNTY NUTRITION EDUCATOR CCE of Steuben County is seeking a full-time, qualified and experienced nutrition educator who will primarily be responsible for delivery of established SNAP public education programming to improve healthy food and lifestyle choices among families and individuals encompassing all age groups throughout the Finger Lakes SNAP Region and Steuben County. This position will also assisting with marketing efforts for SNAP programming in collaboration with other nutritionists in the SNAP region. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Health Education, and/or Public Health. Associate’s Degree plus 2 years transferrable program/functional experience may substitute. • Experience relevant to role of the position. • Ability to present effective and relevant educational lessons to target audiences in group settings, and work with diverse audiences of all ages. • Must be able to purchase and prepare foods, utilizing business expense account and pragmatic use of resources. • Must be able to review and follow recipes and assure compliance to federal and state guidelines. • Ability to carry supplies and equipment, climb stairs, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Ability to work independently and to effectively participate in professional team efforts. • Basic computer and word processing skills. • Ability to read and write in English. • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards and DMV check. • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
Salary in the range of $41,000-$44,000 annually. Excellent benefits, based on eligibility, including:
