Create a visual of the pH scale and how it relates to hair and skin. Draw it or create it on a computer. Refer to The Coloring Book, pages 58 and 59, The Color System disc 2 and write a summary based on your understanding of pH and how it relates to color chemistry. Write a minimum of 500 words. Using litmus paper, test the pH of a minimum of 10 different items from your school's dispense and/or from home. Create a pH scale, listing the items you tested and their pH with the litmus paper. Show your work to your Color Specialist and complete for your Color Honors.

Find a minimum of 6 different pictures of various finger waves from magazines or from the internet. Add these pictures to your Look Book. On a live model, do 4 separate finger waves; horizontal, vertical, horseshoe and creative finger waves. Dry and brush out each wave. Take pictures of each wave when wet and dried and add to your Look Book. Show your work to your Education Leader or Texture Specialist.
3. Cut and Color Combination Home Play Activity •

Create and execute a combination haircut on a live model or doll head. Refer to the Combination DVD from The Cutting System and Chapter 8 from The Cutting Book for understanding and inspiration. Using the diagramming key on page 84 from The Cutting System, diagram the hair cut you created. Following the Color Placement Chart from The Coloring Book page 76 create a diagram of a foil placement that compliments your combination haircut. Do the Color Placement you designed on the haircut and record the formulas for every color and/or lightener you use. Take before and after pictures and add to your Look Book. Show your completed work with your Color and Cutting Specialists for documentation on your Cutting and Color Honors.

On a doll head or a live person, create a wet set using a combination of 3 of these 4 style techniques. Finger Waves, Pin Curls, Stand-up Curls or Barrel Curls. Refer to the Milady's textbook, Chapter 17 With the Barrel Curls, demonstrate at least 2 of the 3 roller placements of On Base, Half Base or Off Base. Set the hair, dry, comb out and style. Take a before picture, pictures of the actual set from various angles and a finished style picture. Answer the following questions. 1. What is the texture and formation of the hair? 2. What Style and Finish Products did you use and why did you select them? Refer to the Experience Menu. 3. What did you learn? 4. What would you do different next time? Share the pictures and answers with your Theory Leader to receive 10 bonus points on one of July's theory tests, your choice.
