Standard classifications Ductile Access covers and gully grates installed in the UK should meet the requirements of the European Standard BS EN 124. This applies to all situations, road and off-road, and to all materials. Products designed to BS EN 124 are grouped and classified depending on their place of installation. It is the responsibility of the engineer to ensure that the correct product is specified: “The appropriate class of access covers top or gully top to be used depends upon the place of installation. The selection of the appropriate class is the responsibility of the designer. Where there is any doubt the stronger class should be selected.” Clause 5 BS EN 124.

Our range of Sentry High Security access covers and frames include products designed and fabricated in line with LPS1175 SR4 specification. The range has been designed for use on a variety of projects including clean water reservoir chambers. The range incorporates torsion spring assistance for ease of opening by one person. On projects which require non standard sizes and products which sit outside of the scope of the specification, we have the flexibility to design and fabricate in line with the same requirements but note that they will not be certified.

Standard classifications Ductile Access covers and gully grates installed in the UK should meet the requirements of the European Standard BS EN 124. This applies to all situations, road and off-road, and to all materials. Products designed to BS EN 124 are grouped and classified depending on their place of installation. It is the responsibility of the engineer to ensure that the correct product is specified: “The appropriate class of access covers top or gully top to be used depends upon the place of installation. The selection of the appropriate class is the responsibility of the designer. Where there is any doubt the stronger class should be selected.” Clause 5 BS EN 124.
