COWBOY QUICK HITTERS ►The Cowboys were handed their first loss of the season by No. 16 Texas A&M, which advanced to the Progressive Legends Classic title game with the 72-55 victory. OSU forced a season-high 19 turnovers but shot just 29.9 percent from the floor, which was the lowest by the Cowboys since a 29.1 percent performance against Tulsa on Dec. 2, 2015 in Gallagher-Iba Arena. ►Jeffrey Carroll made his return to the court for OSU and scored just five points on 2-of-12 shooting from the floor, including an 0-5 mark from 3-point, which was his most sluggish offensive performance since the 2015-16 season. The Preseason All-Big 12 performer averaged 17.5 points per game on 53.7 percent shooting last season, and hit 44.4 percent from 3-point. ►Jeffrey Carroll was held under 10 points just five times in the 2016-17 season, but each time he responded with a big performance in his next game. In the games following his single-digit outings Carroll averaged 21.6 points on 58.6 percent shooting. ►The Cowboys uncharacteristically shot just 54.5 percent from the free throw line. OSU entered the game ranked 12th nationally with an 81.8 percent clip from the line. The 54.5 percent performance was OSU's lowest since going 6-of-12 (50.0) against Oklahoma on Jan. 13, 2016. ►Brandon Averette continues to shine at point guard for the Cowboys. The sophomore is the only player to reach double figures in scoring in each game for OSU, and leads the Cowboys in points (13.5 points) and assists (4.8 assists) despite coming off the bench. On the year, Averette has an astonishing 19-to-3 assists/turnover ratio. ►The Texas A&M game was Mitchell Solomon's 100th in a Cowboy uniform. Solomon grabbed four offensive rebounds on the night, which moves his career total to 208, which ranks ninth in program history. He needs just six more to tie Chianti Roberts (214 from 1993-97) for eighth. ►The OSU high-pressure defense has turned its opponents over to the tune of 15.5 giveaways per game. The Cowboys have a +5.3 turnover margin on the year. ►OSU is now 16-18 in games played in the state of New York. The most notable of those games include OSU's wins in the 1945 and 1946 NCAA Championship games in Madison Square Garden against NYU and North Carolina. OSU has played in nine National Invitational Tournament (NIT) games in New York, and has also played in Syracuse, Buffalo, Queens and Long Island. ►Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton is bringing the Cowboys back to his hometown of Brooklyn. Boynton is from the Clinton Hill area of Brooklyn and played his high school ball at Bishop Loughlin, which is located blocks away from the Barclays Center. In fact, Boynton is one of just 16 members of the 1,000-point club in Loughlin history, and his name is inscribed in a banner in the gym.

UP NEXT ►The Cowboys will face Pittsburgh, which is coming off a 85-54 loss to Penn State on Monday night, which dropped their record to 1-3. ►The Panthers and Cowboys have met 10 previous times, including a pair of matchups in Madison Square Garden and another in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Cowboys took the 1991 matchup in the Preseason NIT and the 2004 meeting in the Sweet 16 in New Jersey en route to the program's sixth trip to the Final Four. The Panthers won the other local meeting in MSG in Dec. of 2011. ►OSU's 10 previous meetings with Pittsburgh are the most against any of the current members of the ACC. The Cowboys are 17-23 against ACC schools. OSU against the current members of the ACC: Duke (1-1), NC State (2-0), Syracuse (3-2), Virginia (1-0), Florida State (1-0), Miami (0-1), Notre Dame (Never met), Louisville (1-3), North Carolina (1-1), Boston College (0-1), Clemson (0-1), Virginia Tech (0-4), Georgia Tech (2-2), Pittsburgh (4-6), Wake Forest (1-1). ►This will be OSU's 71st appearance on ESPNU, which hosted its first ever broadcast from OSU's Gallagher-Iba Arena on March 5, 2005. Overall, the Cowboys are 39-31 on ESPNU.
