In Cumbria the population that were of working age (16 to pension age) was 72.7% compared to 76.9% in the North West. Housing In December 2009 the average overall house price for Cumbria was £133,598, down 7.5% on the previous year and for the North West it was £122,123 which was a decrease of 10.9% on the previous year. (Source: House Price Index January 2009, Land Registry) The number of Lone Parent Households with Dependent Children in Cumbria was 427 compared with 8,562 across the North West. Housing In December 2009 the average overall house price for Cumbria was £133,598, down 7.5% on the previous year and for the North West it was £122,123 which was a decrease of 10.9% on the previous year.
