CV-800EP Serial to Wiegand Converter Installation Instructions Compatible with Viscount Enterphone 2000 ™ and any access control system utilizing 26 bit wiegand format card records.
Description The CV-800EP is a Serial to Wiegand Converter for the Viscount Enterphone 2000 ™ Telephone Entry System (firmware version 2.4 or higher is required). It captures the code a visitor enters into the lobby panel, converts it to a 26 bit Wiegand Format, then sends it to an Access Control System only when the Resident that was called, enters a “9” or a “6”. The CV-800EP also has a connection for the Postal Lock Switch. When the normally open postal lock switch is activated, the CV-800 will send “9999” in 26 bit Wiegand format to the Access Control System.
To install the CV-800EP > Step One Connect the Male DB9 Connector to J11 of the Enterphone 2000™ Central Control Unit.

Red Reader +12 Volts Black Reader 0 Volts Green Reader Data 0 White Reader Data 1 Blue Postal Lock Switch Orange Postal Lock Switch
Connect the 22/6 conductor cable to your Access Control Panel as follows: a) Red wire to Access Control Reader input +12V. b) Black wire to Access Control Reader input 0V. c) G reen wire to Access Control Reader input Data 0. d) White wire to Access Control Reader Input Data 1. e) Orange wire to Postal Lock Switch Common. f) B lue wire to Postal Lock Switch Normally Open.

The Baud Rate must be set to 9600 (see the Enterphone 2000 Manual for Instructions)

K.7.1 Setting up Communications with the Common Control Unit (CCU)
26 bit Wiegand
Only software version 2.4 and up provides the data output capability. Earlier software versions will not work. To find the software version, check the label on top of IC U9 inside the CCU. 1. Two baud rates are available, either 1200 or 9600, and are selectable with jumper W3, from inside the CCU. The top position is 1200 baud and the lower position is 9600 baud.

Power Supply: 9/14VDC (Linear Power Supply Recommended)
Maximum Current Requirements: Average 7mA, Peak 10mA.
Cable Distance: 300 Feet (90 Metres) Recommended cable (22AWG) 6 conductor Stranded with overall shield.
