CWJRD U8 Soccer Tournament Rules Standings for Pool Play 1. Game Points: A. Points will be awarded for each game in accordance with the following schedule: Six points for a WIN Three points for a TIE Zero points for a LOSS One point for a SHUT-OUT (including 0-0 game) One point for each goal scored, up to four maximum, regardless of WIN or loss. B. For a forfeited game, the winner will be credited with a 1-0 win and awarded eight points (six for the win, one for the goal and one for the shut-out). A team abandoned by another team during a game will be awarded at least eight points. The results of that game shall be based on the score at the time of the abandonment. C. Game points will determine the champion of the boy’s and girl’s tournament. 2. Tie breaking within a Group - In the event of a points tie, group winner will be determined as follows: A. Head to head. B. Goal differential (maximum of four goal difference per game). C. Least goals allowed. D. Most goals scored (maximum of four goals per game). E. Penalty kicks (See below)
Tournament Rules and Format
Higher seeded team will be considered "Home" team st rd nd th The "home" team will kickoff the 1 & 3 quarter. The “away” team will kickoff the 2 & 4 quarter. Teams may substitute anytime play is stopped and the referee is notified. All players must receive equal, or as close to, equal playing time.
Penalty Kicks Procedure This procedure will be in effect for the following situations: o To settle tie-breaker for U8 Boys group play and U8 Girls group play Shoot-Out Procedures: 1. Each team selects five (5) players. 2. The home team will shoot first. 3. The shot will be taken from the penalty kick spot. 4. Teams will alternate shots. 5. A player will shoot, then play goalie (or play goalie, then go shoot). 6. The team with the most goals scored after five kicks for each team is the winner. If there is a tie after 5 rounds of shootout: 1. GOLDEN GOAL rule is in effect. 2. Players are selected from the remaining players on the team. 3. A player cannot take a second turn until ALL players have gone once. 4. The home team will shoot first. 5. The shot will be taken from the penalty kick spot. 6. Teams will alternate shots. 7. A player will shoot, then play goalie (or play goalie, then go shoot). 8. First team to score a goal and defend a goal is the winner.
