Worship the KING! This week, we worship the King who watches over us. He gave Samson the strength to fight the Philistines and lead the Israelites. He MEMORY VERSE Psalm 121: 1, 2, 4, 8 will give you strength, I lift up my eyes to the hills— too! where does my help come from? My help
comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
KINGDOM CHALLENGE Make a list of times when God has given you strength to do hard things or to face hard times. Keep the list and add to it. Read it anytime to remember how God watches over you.
Read Judges 16:23-30. The Philistines led Samson into their
(LEPMET) T__ __ P__ __ where they worshiped a false god. He brought the temple down on [ ] 3 [ ] 30 [ ] 3,000 Philistines.
Read Judges 16:15-20. Samson told Delilah the (TRECES)
Who were the Philistines?
S__ C __ __ __ of his [ ] faith. [ ] strength. [ ] love. When she shaved his hair, his (GTHRENTS) S__ __ EN__ __ __ left and he was captured.
They were powerful enemies of God’s people, the Israelites, during the time of Samson, Saul and David. The giant warrior, Goliath, was a Philistine.
Read Judges 15:15, 18-20. Samson defeated 1,000 Philistines with [ ] an iron chariot. [ ] a tank. [ ] a donkey’s jawbone. Then he led Israel for [ ] 2 years. [ ] 10 years. [ ] 20 years. Read Judges 15:12-14.
The Israelites tied Samson in (WNE) N__ __ ropes and took him to the Philistines. The Spirit of the Lord came on him; the ropes [ ] tightened.
[ ] fell off.
Read Judges 14:5-6. When the lion attacked Samson, the Spirit of the (DROL) L__ __ __ came upon him. He killed the lion with his
[ ] sling shot. [ ] bow and arrow. [ ] bare hands.
GOD GIVES ST RENGTH TO SAMSON Judges 14-16 Samson was judg e over Israel for 20 years. Go d made Samson so strong that he defeated 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of a do nkey. Samson fell in love with a Philistine named Delilah. When he told her the secret of his strength, the Philistines we re able to capture him. His last act was to destroy a temple full of Philistines worship ing a false god.
