Dana L. Murphy, Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Dana L. Murphy was elected to the statewide office of Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner in November 2008 and re-elected in 2010. She serves on the Electricity Committee of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. She also serves on the Regional State Committee of Southwest Power Pool. Prior to her election, Murphy worked for almost six years as an administrative law judge at the Commission, receiving the Commissioners’ Public Servant Award in 2001. She has more than 20 years of experience in the petroleum industry, from working as a geologist to owning and operating a private law firm focused in oil and gas title, regulatory practice and transactional work. She earned her bachelor’s degree in geology from Oklahoma State University and her law degree from Oklahoma City University.
