David Mathew Chada September 22, 1924 – December 10, 2016
David M. Chada, 92, of Sutherland and formerly of Brule, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, in the Sutherland Care Center. David Mathew Chada was born September 22, 1924 at Brule, Ne., the son of Benjamin F. and Bella A (Kosmacek) Chada. David received his education at Brule Public Schools. David was united in marriage to Betty L. Holper on February 5 1949 at Paoli, Co. The couple resided at Brule, NE where David was a self-employed cement mason and carpenter as well as several other construction companies. David worked for Ed Turner Construction for twenty years. David served in the US Army during World War II. David is a member of the United Church of Christ, First Congregational of Brule. He also served on the Church Board, a member of the American Legion, Brule Lions Club, Brule Fire and Ambulance Dept. and the Brule Cemetery Board. David’s hobbies included fishing and stamp collecting. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty in June of 2016, Brothers Adolph and Basel; and sisters Clara Croston, Elsie Chada, Florence Law, and Georgia Hosier; and Daughter in law Vicky Chada. Survivors include five sons David (Nancy) Chada of Rapid City S.D., John Chada of Park City, KS., Ronald (Rhonda) Chada of North Platte, Bill Chada (Dodie Schlueter) of Salt Lake City, UT., and Mark (Amanda) Chada of Letcher, S.D. Grandsons, Michael (Shannon) Chada of Lincoln, Christopher (Mary) Chada of North Platte, Nicholas Chada of Grand Island. 5 Granddaughters Michelle (Brian) Moore of Kearney, Wendie (Kenny) Miller of Park City, KS., Nichole (Tracy) Knepp of Rapid City S.D., and Kerri (Paul) Kramer of Tryon, and Meghan Chada of Letcher, S.D. and 7 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m. in the Brule United Church of Christ, Congregational with Rev. Lisa Hadler officiating. Interment is in the Brule Cemetery with military honors by Keith County Veterans Organization. A memorial has been established to the Brule Volunteer Fire Department.
