Disciplinary Board-Elect 2 Clergy and 2 Lay persons Lay nominations Karen Love, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Harrisburg As a retired educator with 36 years of experience, I believe that I possess many qualities that could be beneficial to the Disciplinary Board. I take commitments seriously. Having dealt with people of all ages and backgrounds, I am sensitive to the needs of others and I am both a good listener and a solution-oriented person. I believe that working cooperatively is important and that how things are said is often as important as what is said. I would study policies governing each situation and filter them through various viewpoints for the best resolution.
Sanford Schwartz, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, State College As a member of the Standing Committee (2011-2017), I gained some experience in matters of ecclesiastical discipline, and chaired a subcommittee that reported on Title IV (Ecclesiastical Discipline) of the national canons, and the corresponding section of the diocesan canons, in preparation for a forthcoming case of disciplinary action. As for gifts and skills, I can only pray for good judgment, along with the courage and humility required to exercise it, and hope in God's grace that there will be little or no need to convene the Disciplinary Board in the months and years ahead.
