Debate Club Code of Conduct
No tolerance; any violence will result in immediate removal from the debate as well as the core team. Three unexcused missed meetings and you will be removed from the core team Debate is against the ideas; arguing is against the person - debate club will only consist of debating. *This does not mean that playing devil’s advocate or debating for the sake of debating is forbidden; in fact it is encouraged Professional behavior only, you will be respectful and courteous to everyone There will be one person speaking at a time If you are reprimanded three times by the Debate Manager or Mr. Conway, you will be asked to sit out the rest of that debate. Reasons for being reprimanded include, but are not limited to; o Speaking for an unreasonable amount of time, as decided by the Debate Manager or Mr. Conway o Swearing; only acceptable if quoting someone or something o Shouting or raising your voice above an acceptable level
