Nativity Year R polished their halos and prepared to make room at their Inn during this year’s performance of Wriggly Nativity. The children did exceptionally well at learning their song words and were incredibly brave when performing to their audiences. We are sure the children made you very proud! A huge well done to all involved and many thanks to staff and parents who helped with costumes. Year 1 and 2 Christmas Play It hasn’t only been our pupils in Year R who have been busy performing. Children in Year 1 and 2 have also been working incredibly hard to put on their own performance of Christmas Around the World. Not only did they dazzle us with lots of fascinating facts of how Christmas is celebrated in other countries, but the acting was brilliant and the singing was sensational. Enormous thanks again to all involved and congratulations to the children for putting on such a great show. Choir Our school choir have been very busy recently and have performed for the residents of the Coldwell and Holmer Court Nursing Homes, and additionally at Hereford Cathedral. Yet again, the children sang beautifully and made us very proud. A particular thank you to Mrs. Brandreth for all her hard work with our pupils. Well done!

Donkey Service Some of our children were lucky enough to be invited to Hereford Cathedral to participate in their Donkey Service. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this service, it involves real donkeys! Upon arrival, cathedral staff chaperoned our pupils and provided them with costumes and a brief rehearsal. Caydon Cooke and Jasmine Dytor took on the prestigious roles of Joseph and Mary, with Jasmine proving herself to be somewhat of an accomplished donkey rider! By all accounts, it was a wonderful service and one which has created memories which will last a lifetime.

Christingle As you will recall, the value for the month of December is fellowship. Never was this more evident than during our Christingle service this morning. To see the whole school gathered under just the candlelight at the start of the service, was a truly magical moment. The carols were sung beautifully, as were the solos. The readings were read particularly eloquently and all children should be commended on how they conducted themselves throughout the entire service.

PTFA

Some reminders!

Thank you to the PTFA who have yet again surpassed themselves with their fundraising efforts. Last week’s Christmas Fayre was hugely popular. Such was the success of the tombola that we had to call upon the services of some special helpers to form a production line in making additional prizes during the event itself. By the end of the afternoon, there wasn’t a prize left in sight; just lots of happy children! Similarly, last night’s disco was absolutely brilliant. The children danced their ways through corridors, indulged in delicious hot-dogs and proudly displayed their newly purchased neon-flashing rings at anyone who passed by.
