TOWN OF PLAINFIELD Residential Deck Inspection Procedures All inspection requests are to be made by calling 839-2561. All requests will require the permit number. All requests should be made two (2) business days in advance of the date the inspection. Building permits shall be clearly displayed at the site for which the building permit was issued. Footing/Foundation: A separate field inspection is not required. Builder needs to ensure that the depth of the footing/foundation is established at a minimum of thirty (30) inches below the finish grade. Rough-in Inspection and Occupancy Certificate: This inspection is required at the completion of the project and a certificate of occupancy needs to be issued before the use of the structure.
