Topographic sink As part of a project called "Design for a drought year", I did a research about the use of the “red lines" marks in the slowly drying sea of galilee, as a critic and balancing tool and the different graphical marks that influence our water consumption. The sink is a three dimensional topographic map, its shape breaks the consensus of the sink as a vessel and making it more as a measuring tool that creates deterrence from spilling water. After using the sink for some period of time, the mind creates and determines "allowed" levels and cavities versus "forbidden" ones. The sink was chosen to be presented in a sanitary design exhibition in the 'Shafdan water saving center' and won first place on an ecological design contest, first place on a sanitary design contest and for that it was presented in the gallery of 'Chamat', the largest company in Israel for sanitary manufacture and design company, next to other designs of different international & local designers.
FOOO Graduation Project ; Green energy LED flashlight for children that live in areas without electricity. Fooo is a toy and a homework light, which harvests energy from the wind, with a built-in string technology system. It has a flexible "neck" that makes using it fun and multifunctional. It has a loop that calls for a personal design and leaves a place for the child’s imagination ( string, rope, bow etc...). Its bottom has embossed footprints that leaves marks on the sand. FOOO is portable and tough weather proof, which means it is compatible for playing with it in a mud and a sandy environment. The purpose of FOOO was to attract kids to use it, carry it around with them, make homework as fun as possible and therefore keep the children in the education system. I went to the Israeli desert and spent some time with the bedouins and had the pleasure to try and think like them and explore their children's playing methods, which was an amazing experience for me. I built a working prototype and printed a model with a 3D printer. During the project I managed to contact the string energy inventor, Mr. Shawn Frayne, an innovative international award winner inventor, who saw my project, loved it and encouraged me to proceed.
Geisha Wood Console table with a bowl. Inspired by the Japanese respect for woodworking, Geisha has no screws or nails and is assembled using only geometric and accurate connections. Geisha was named as such because it serves, elegant, traditional and implies peeking at the bowl’s bottom. The Geisha was sold and presented at Asufa, modern design shop and gallery in Jaffa.
