CLASS TITLE: Director, Educator Effectiveness Job Purpose Statement: Under the supervision of the Superintendent or designee, the Director of Educator Effectiveness is responsible for collaboratively developing definition for and identifying options for expectations and standards for the evaluation of teachers and school leaders; engaging in process development of inter-rater agreement with evaluators; conducting Presentations at Educator Effectiveness and Evaluation Academies statewide; facilitating onsite intersessions for participating LEAs; traveling to state academies, Steering Committee meetings, symposiums; providing Intersession support to LEAs; and developing professional learning options for teachers and school leaders related to implementation of the evaluation tool and system. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Works collaboratively to lead and ensure the development and confirmation of definitions, tools and processes related to the educator effectiveness and evaluation systems for teachers and school leaders.



Plans and facilitates training for teachers, principals, assistant principals, and designated evaluators to understand the evaluation system to include the quality standards, evaluation processes, and reporting tools.



Researches best instructional practices related to teacher development and evaluation and ensures that these practices are represented in definitions of effectiveness in the quality standards for performance.



Plans and facilitates meetings.



Builds capacity at all levels with certificated staff, administrators, administrator designees, and designated evaluators to plan and develop professional learning opportunities.



Attends project related conferences (both in and outside of California).



Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements-Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education /Experience:  Possession of a Master’s degree in education or related field and a valid California Administrative Credential is required.  Five (5) years of experience in curriculum development or school leadership.

Skills and Knowledge Required:  Skill and Ability to plan, implement, assess and evaluate programs; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; effectively transmit knowledge and skill to others; plan, develop, and conduct meetings and training programs; develop measurable goals and objectives, set priorities, monitor expenditures, and evaluate progress toward achievement; maintain positive working relationships with administrators, teachers, and university faculty. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. 

Abilities to sit for prolonged periods; work accurately with attention to detail under minimal supervision; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; direct the work of others; interpret data from a variety of sources; listen and analyze problems and develop solutions; control quality of project, schedules, and budgets; perform a wide range of professional, administrative, advocacy, and liaison duties; interpret and apply laws, regulations, and policies; effectively communicate orally and in writing using correct English and grammar; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and a wide variety of public agencies, community groups, and private industry. Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling/fingering, talking/hearing, and near visual acuity/visual accommodation.

Licenses, Certification, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: TB test clearance. Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance which includes DOJ and FBI. Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
