Ditty Bags Instructors: Lissa and Lori We appreciate your support when you purchase supplies at Monica’s! Students receive 10% off supplies and 10% off All purchases on class day (except items already marked down.) We will be making the medium bag in class. Materials listed are for that size.
Pattern: Ditty Bag ByAnnie Main fabric – 12 ½” x 18” (body of bag) Coordinating fabric – 12 ½” x 18” (lining of bag) Accent fabric – 12 ½” x 18” Soft & Stable – 12 ½” x 18” Zipper – 14” or longer. Discover the usefulness and ease of using Soft and Stable ByAnnie in this 12 month series of classes while honing your sewing skills and creating fabulous projects. Sisters Lissa and Lori, with decades of sewing experience between them (we started VERY young), will help you create fun, beautifully finished projects, with increasingly challenging patterns. As we will be creating 12 different projects over the course of the class, these are overall sewing needs not specific to any of the patterns. Materials for class: Sewing machine with zipper foot and walking foot (1/4” foot is nice too!) Regular and “jeans” needles for your sewing machine Pins Washable pen/pencil A stiletto is helpful Binding clips (like Wonder Clips) Large safety pin cutting board, rotary cutter, and quilter’s ruler scissors Turn-It-All (if you don’t have one of these, you will be amazed how easy it makes turning straps) If you are a classicist (like my sister and me) who likes to finish all around binding by hand, bring a needle! Before class: You will have more time for sewing (and instruction) if you complete the following tasks before coming to class: Cut all fabrics to the instructions in the pattern. If the pattern calls for you to quilt a (fabric/Soft & Stable/fabric) slab first, it will save time if you do this at home. Annie has instructions in each pattern. If you are still unsure about the process, bring everything with you, we’ll be happy to help. The class is structured to allow your sewing knowledge and expertise to progress from pattern to pattern as you build upon what you learn to create increasing complex projects.
