How it works
Voice communication
Doro Secure 211 is ideal for enabling seniors to continue living at home as long as they would like to. User-activated radio triggers such as an alarm pendant or wristband alarm button, as well as automatic triggers such as fall sensors, smoke detectors, etc. communicate with the telecare gateway in the user’s home. The gateway immediately relays the alarm to a monitoring centre, where a trained operator can speak with the user through the Doro Secure 211 unit. Should any action need to be taken, the operator in turn informs the appropriate carer depending on the type of alarm.
Thanks to a built-in GSM module and speakerphone, the telecare service provider can immediately initiate a phone call over the GSM network as a first response to an alarm or request from the subscriber. The red alarm button on the top of the gateway can be pressed by the subscriber to send such a request.
Fixed wireless functionality As a fixed wireless gateway, Doro Secure 211 uses GSM and GPRS technologies to provide excellent functionality in areas where an alternative to PSTN or ADSL-based solutions are desired. The gateway is delivered to the subscriber with a pre-installed, pre-configured M2M SIM card. Once connected to the power mains, the unit immediately establishes a connection with the service provider’s monitoring centre over the GPRS network and goes into to stand-by mode. www.doro.com
Social alarm radio triggers Doro Secure 211 is delivered with one waterresistant radio trigger that can be worn either as around the neck or on the wrist using an accessory wristband. The gateway is also compatible with Doro Secure 280, an alarm button featuring fall detection. This optional wristband alarm has a fall sensor that provides added security by automatically triggering an alert if the subscriber should fall and need help. Environmental sensors Other triggers that may be used with the gateway include compatible environmental sensors for detecting smoke, water leakages, etc.
Doro Secure 211 Fixed wireless telecare gateway Secure RF communication Radio communication between triggers and the gateway use our secure, specially developed Doro Secure RF Protocol. This provides reliable operation by implementing the 869 MHz radio frequency, sometimes referred to as the ‘European social alarm frequency.’ In addition, all radio triggers are automatically checked daily so that Doro Secure 211 can initiate an alert in the event of low battery level or an undetected trigger. More information plus easier integration For data communication between the gateway and the monitoring centre over the GPRS network, Doro Secure 211 implements our specially developed Doro Secure IP Protocol. This not only makes the gateway easy to integrate, but also delivers useful information to the service provider using codes to identify the type of alarm as well as data such as:
Type of device: radio trigger, fall sensor, smoke detector, etc.
