LOVE OFFERING FOR NEPAL The mountainous and landlocked nation of Nepal suffered a magnitude 7.8 earthquake on April 25th. There have been hundreds of aftershocks in the following weeks and months, including a magnitude 7.3 on May 12th. As a result, nearly 8900 have died and 22,000 have been injured. Entire towns have been leveled. Many government and private relief organizations rushed to Nepal to meet the immediate needs of those who suffered most. Few have sought to meet their eternal spiritual needs with the hope and truth of the Gospel. Fellowship International Mission (FIM) has been at work among the people of Nepal for several years. Working in a nation that is 81% Hindu, 9% Buddhist, and only 1.4% Christian of any sort, they seek to present the Gospel and build Bible-believing churches. This IFCA- associated missions agency has missionaries in Nepal who will use our donations to enable even further outreach and rebuilding. They recognize that they have a unique opportunity to reach the lost during this time. The Church of the Open Door will conduct a special offering on July 26th for FIM's work in Nepal. The Missions Committee will add $1000 to that offering from its budget for special support. Please prayerfully consider how you may participate in this special collection for spreading the Gospel in Nepal. We invite you to be generous in this love offering on the 26th.

Prayer Requests from the Board of Elders 1. Pray for our Young Adult Singles Ministry. This is a strong

group of young men and women that is in need of a new mentor couple. Pray that the right couple will step forward to help with this ministry. Pray also for growth in numbers as the group reaches out to younger adults across the city. 2. Pray for the Youth Lakota Missions Trip. Pray that the Lord would prepare the hearts of the Lakota people to whom they’ll be ministering, that they would hear and receive the gospel. Pray for our young people, that the Lord would give them strength and keep them healthy for the duration of the trip. Please pray, as well, for safety as our group travels to and from SD and each day to the locations where they’ll be ministering. Finally, pray that they wouldn’t have any mechanical difficulties during their trip. 3. Pray for CGSC Students and families who are moving into the area. Pray that they will quickly find a doctrinally sound church where they can plug into ministry, and grow in the knowledge of our Lord. Pray that God would use Church of the Open Door to have a significant spiritual impact in many of their lives. 4. Pray for safety for the construction crew. Pray that the Lord will bless their work and keep them safe from accidental harm as well as weather (heat) related risks. Pray that the construction and completion of the project will proceed with the Lord’s blessings.
