1983, 1994, 2013 - Southland Conference Champions 1983, 2005, 2010 - Southland Conference Tournament Champions 1994, 2005, 2010 - NCAA Regional Tournament Champions 23 Southland Conference Tournament Appearances Greetings from Cowgirl Diamond and McNeese State University Softball! Can you believe that the 2014 season is right around the corner?! We spent our summer’s individually running, lifting weights, practicing and preparing for the fall and are excited to finally be together, preparing as a team. Our goal for 2014 is simple: Be our best, everyday; on the field, in the classroom, and in our community. A few words that define our program are industrious, pride, and family. We believe we are the hardest working athletes in the country, which culminated last season with a 3.31 team GPA and the 2013 Southland Conference Championship Title. In the words of senior shortstop, Katie Roux, “[Our team takes] confidence in knowing that there is nothing else we could do to better prepare ourselves to be our very best both physically and mentally. Therefore, we play with less pressure, more confidence, and no regret because, regardless of the outcome, we did all we could do with people that did the exact same thing.” Each member of the McNeese softball team is responsible to help raise funds to supplement costs involved in running a successful program. Attached to this letter is a breakdown of the cost to outfit our program for 2013-2014. We are asking you to consider investing in us to help reach our goals of a 2014 Southland Conference Championship. As unforgettable and special as the 2013 season was for our team we are excited for what 2014 has in store. We start the school year with a clean slate, on level ground with every other team in the country and are committed to represent McNeese Softball with character, class and competitive greatness daily. Our expectations for 2014 are to defend our SLC Championship Title, win the SLC Conference Tournament, and compete in an NCAA Regional. However we are committed one overarching goal: To win every day! The 2014 season promises to be exciting and challenging as we open up in Mobile, AL at (15) South Alabama then proceed to College Station, TX to face off against (17) Texas A&M, (40) Oregon State, and (30) Tulsa. Included on our spring calendar is trip to 2012 National Champions (9) University of Alabama, (14) University of Louisiana-Lafayette, and (13) LSU. As 2014 will be the most challenging schedule in recent school history, we will compete against ten teams that finished 2013 ranked in the top 40, nine that participated in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, four of which proceeded to a Super-Regional. Overall we are excited to be part of another year of history, tradition and championship culture of McNeese State Softball. The Cowgirl Way is to BE a CHAMPION, on and off the field. We hope that you will join us in our 2014 journey of pursuing daily excellence and working toward a SLC Championship. We believe that facility upgrades, successful road trips, and on and on-field victories are in our near future and are seeking your help to see these come to fruition. But beyond those things, your investment is in us as young women. Your contributions provide us with the unique opportunity to pursue our dreams, empowering each of us to reach greatness during our college years so that we can impact our world upon graduation from McNeese.
