[email protected] “Oh no he isn’t!” The school is very pleased to announce that the pupils will be treated to a visit to the Customs House to watch this year’s panto ‘The Lambton Worm’ in December. Everything has been paid for by our wonderful PTA. It is great to treat the children to something nice and rewards everyone for their generosity. More information coming soon. Year 5 @ the Word Half of Year 5 had a fantastic time at The Word this week.
They created descriptive writing in Story World; programmed Lego vehicles and performed a TV interview in front of the green screens. The other Y5 class are going next week. Lots of fun and learning! School email address You may have noticed that the school’s email address has changed from
[email protected] to
[email protected]. Far less complicated and it complements our website nicely. Any emails to our previous address will still reach us. Parents’ Evenings This term, parents’ evening will take place on November 20th and 21st. Letters came home this week. Please complete the slips and return them to school, so that time slots can be allocated. Thank you
Sports Tournaments As part of our ongoing quest to have pupils writing for purposeful events, we asked the girls’ football team to produce match reports for this week’s games. Match 1: Our first match was against Mortimer B team. Early in the game, Eva delivered a brilliant ball to Beth, who placed the ball into the back of the net. Moments later, we were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box. Beth forced a save and Lydia pounced on the rebound to make it 2-0. The game was wrapped up when Faith scored our third and final goal. Match 2: This match was challenging. After surviving an early chance from the St Oswald’s striker, EBJ improved and gained plenty of possession. The St. Oswald’s keeper made two good saves to keep the game to 00. Two clean sheets keeping us high up in the table. Written by the football team: Beth (capt), Chloe, Erin, Esther, Eva, Faith, Grace, Holly, Lydia and Millie.
On the 9th of November, Year 4 took five teams to the Quicksticks South Tyneside Hockey Finals. The standard was very high but after some very closely fought and competitive games (particularly when two East Boldon teams had to face each other in the semi-final) one team reached the final and another the third place play off. Unfortunately, we lost the final but we came out winners by a golden goal in the third place play off. Thank you to all the staff and parents who came along to help and support our children.
