The Bible Story 2 Kings 5

BIBLE STORY FOR TODDLERS Naaman was a leader in the king of Aram’s army. He was very sick with a skin disease. A young servant girl from Israel said, “The prophet in Israel could cure my master.” Naaman went to Elisha’s house. Elisha sent Naaman a message: “Wash seven times in the Jordan River.” Naaman was angry, and he left. Naaman thought Elisha would wave his hands or say special words to make Naaman better! Naaman’s servants said, “You should do what the prophet says.” So Naaman dipped in the Jordan River seven times. His skin was healed—like a young boy’s skin! Naaman went back to Elisha and said, “There is no God in the whole world but your God!”

SING A SONG Sing to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” : “One, one, only one—there is just one God! He made us, and He is our Lord. THERE IS ONE TRUE GOD!” SAY: THERE IS ONE TRUE GOD. When Naaman was healed, he said there is no one like God!

WHERE IS YOUR NOSE? Sit a baby on your lap facing you. Ask, “Where is your nose [eye, mouth, ear, chin, so forth]?” Gently guide a baby’s hand to touch her nose, mouth, ear, or chin. Repeat with each baby. SAY: THERE IS ONE TRUE GOD. God made you. Jesus can heal people who are sick because He is God’s Son.

MAKE A SENSORY BAG Place ice cubes, water beads, glitter, fish-shapes, and clear shower gel in a ziplock bag and seal it with duct tape. Invite babies to squish the bags to “explore” the cool water. SAY: God told Naaman to wash in the Jordan River. River water is cold and sometimes dirty! Naaman obeyed God, and God healed Naaman. THERE IS ONE TRUE GOD! Check diapers, serve bottles if needed, and release babies to parents according to your church’s security guidelines. Give parents today’s big picture card.
