Welcome to Hu City Salva on Army. Denise and I are happy to be back a er spending a bit of me catching up with family in Tauranga. Thank you to those who held the fort in our absence. Today I want to share some thoughts around the theme of 'faith & works'. Of course we cant 'work' our way into Heaven, but equally important is that our 'faith' should also have legs, and arms, and ears, and a tongue. The Apostle James said very bluntly, 'Faith, without works, is dead.' In the Salva on Army, we have a reputa on for our works. If this isn't us pu+ng our 'faith' into ac on, we would just be another Social service agency. Somehow, we need to ensure that our faith and works go hand in hand, not only as a Church, but also as individual followers of Jesus Christ. Blessings, Stephen Crump Major

Thank you to those who have contributed to the missionary offering with the total now sitting at $16,897.40. Although this sounds a noble effort, it is about 30% down on last year's total which is disappointing. This appeal is still open for a few more weeks so if you are yet to respond, your contributions would be most welcome. This is a great way of assisting the world-wide operation of the Salvation Army when we cant be there in person. Thank you again for sharing the load. Stephen Crump Major
