What is E-911? • Location awareness for emergency calls • Detailed location records for every phone – Building number – Floor number – Room number / Classroom • When a Public Safety Answering Point or PSAP gets the emergency call, they know exactly where you are

E-911 Facts • The most basic protection you can provide your workforce • 17 states have passed legislation requiring enterprises to provide E911 to employees or staff • 911 can still call you back in case of a slip-up

E-911 Implementation
Receive PO, send le:er of agency, and start working with phone company
Get access to phone system, obtain NENA ID or DID’s for each extension and map out the extensions
Establish relaHonship with local E911 coordinator and request forms from phone company for database upload
Assign the DID’s to the extensions in the phone system and program the phone system to send DID out on E911
Enter the data from the school district into the phone company’s database forms
Request tesHng date with E911 coordinator and test from each building/locaHon

What It Does ü Automatically contacts police with minimal human action ü Automatically communicates a threat situation throughout the building and to Administration ü Lets the intruder know Police are on their way ü Provides Police and Administration initial location of threat information ü Provides Two Way Communication Police Pulls do for Law Enforcement what a fire alarm does for the Fire Department
